Fried rice is a dish of cooked rice that has been stir-fried in a wok or a frying pan and is usually mixed with other ingredients such as eggs, vegetables, seafood, or meat. It is often eaten by itself or as an accompaniment to another dish. Fried rice is a popular component of East, Southeast and certain South Asian cuisines.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 4 cups cooked rice or 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons carrots, finely diced
  • 1⁄2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 1⁄2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • pepper
  • salt

Directions

Step 1: First of all, you need to just cook rice following instructions on package. The instructions on the package is given below.

Bring 2 cups water to a boil, add rice and a dash of salt, reduce heat and simmer in covered saucepan for 20 minutes

Step 2: To let it cool in the refrigerator pour rice into a large bowl.

Step 3: In a small pan scramble the eggs over medium heat.

Step 4: While cooking separate the scrambled chunks of egg into small pea-size bits.

Step 5: When rice has cooled to near room temperature, add grated carrot, peas, scrambled egg and diced onion to the bowl.

Step 6: Carefully toss all of the ingredients together.

Step 7: In a large frying pan melt butter medium/high heat.

Step 8: Dump the bowl of rice when butter has completely melted and other ingredients into the pan and add soy sauce plus a dash of salt and pepper.

Step 9: Cook rice for 6-8 minutes over heat, stirring often.
