How To Make ?Apple Turnovers



  • 400g can pie apple slices
  • drained?
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • double cream
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • knife?
  • 5 sheets frozen ready-rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 1 egg lightly beaten?
  • Oven
  • brush to brush egg with
  • paper towel
  • round cutter
  • bowl?
  • tray
  • 1 fork ?
  • Baking paper

Note: makes 25


Step 1. Preheat oven to 180-200 degrees.

Step 2. Dab your can of Apple slices with a bone dry paper towel.

Step 3. Combine Apple, cinnamon along with brown sugar in an appropriate size bowl.?

Step 4. Using a round razor-sharp cutter, cut as many round circular prices in your pastry sheets.

Step 5. Dollop two teaspoons of luscious Apple mixture onto the centre of your circular pieces of pastry.

Step 6. Fold pastry over to enclose your filling.

Step 7. Using a fork, press soft and lightly on the open edge of your pastry to close your pastry together.?

Step 8. Stroke beaten egg smoothly across the top of your pastry.?

Step 9. Spread your baking paper on / over your tray, so it covers the whole top of the tray.

Step 10. Plop your turnovers on the tray leaving a gap between each turnover.

Step 11. Place trays in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. ?

Step 12. Take out of oven and let them cool down for five minutes.?

Step 13. Serve with double cream, cream
