Triple Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins


Triple chocolate banana muffins- a sweet and indulgent breakfast treat. Moist and tender with hints of coconut, banana, and of course, chocolate!
These are a yummy way to use up those over-ripe bananas. If you have a little less than 1 1/3 cups of mashed banana, you can use a little applesauce instead.

  • 3 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 table spoon baking powder
  • 3 table spoons cocoa
  • 1 whole 1/2 cups of brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 120gms butter, melted
  • 2x60gms eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3/2 cup dark chocolate dots
  • 2/3 cup caramel chocolate dots
  • 2 bananas, mashed


Step One : Preheat oven to (fan forced) to 160.c

Step Two : Have muffin tray ready I use large size + muffin wraps but patty cases are fine.

Step Three : Sift flour, baking powder + cocoa into bowl.

Step Four : Add brown sugar and chocolate dots and mix well.

Step Five : Add wet ingredients into a bowl /jug and mix well.

Step Six : Melted butter, beaten egg mashed banana milk.

Step Seven : Add wet ingredients into dry ingredient bowl and mix well with wooden spoon or spatula.

Step Eight : 3/4 fill each muffin mould and bake for 20mins check with a skewer ready when comes out clean.

Step Nine : Allow to cool for 10mins on. Bench before putting out on to rack to finished cooling.
