- Agastya Goel was born and grew up in California.
- Goel’s father, Ashish Goel, hails from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was the topper of the 1990 IIT-JEE batch. He studied computer science at IIT Kanpur and earned a PhD degree from Stanford University. He is now working as a professor of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Earlier, he also worked at Twitter, where he helped to develop the platform’s monetisation model.
- Along with his regular schooling at Henry M. Gunn High School, Agastya has also enrolled at Stanford Online High School to study modern physics and multiverse calculus.
- From 2021 to 2024, Agastya worked as a part-time researcher at Euler Circle in Palo Alto.

- In an interview, Goel revealed that his interest in science began during hikes and car rides with his father. Although initially he was interested in computer science; however, his interest towards Physics shifted during the winter of 2023, when he spent weeks immersed in Kevin Zhou’s physics concepts and taking study sessions during a family trip to India.
