• Alex Consani was born a boy and started wearing feminine clothing at the age of four. She is transgender and she came out with her identity to her parents when she was just 8 years old. She was quoted saying in an interview that
  

  I was about three or four years old when I noticed that I was attracted to girls’ clothes. So I slowly started wearing girlish clothes and became who I am today.”

• When she told her parents that she was transgender, her parents were very supportive of her identity and they even sent her to a trans summer camp in California.

• As a child, Alex Consani used to do gymnastics and ballet but she later quit the both to pursue a career in professional modelling.

• She decided on the name ‘Alex’ at the age of eight and underwent hormone replacement therapy during puberty.

• She used to watch Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows during childhood and that is how she got interested in modelling and she always dreamed of once walking in the show as one of their models.

• Her mother found an advertisement on Facebook for Slay Model Management which is a Los Angeles-based modelling agency made up entirely of transgender models. That’s how Alex Consani started modelling in 2015 when she was 16 years old and became the world’s youngest transgender model at the time.

• In 2023, Alex became the face of Jean Paul Gaultier’s collaborative collection with London-based brand ‘Knwls.’

• In the same year, she was included on the Forbes Top Creators Fashion 50 list where she had the highest engagement rate on the list at 21.5%. Alex was also described as having ‘signature bleached hair and brows.’

• In 2024, Alex Consani was named ‘Model of the Year’ at the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Awards which was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She became the first openly transgender person to win the esteemed title.

• On 15 October 2024, Alex Consani and Valentina Sampaio became the first transgender models to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Sharing her experience of the same, Alex was quoted saying in an interview that
