  • Aniruddha Jatkar is renowned for his work in the Kannada film, and TV industry. He has also worked in Marathi, Tamil, and Hindi films.
  • He is the son-in-law of the legendary Kannada film actor Late Dr Vishnuvardhana, and actress Padma Shri awardee Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan.
  • Aniruddha has also been a significant part of various social, and environmental welfare initiatives, where his work is always appreciated. He always takes part in social activities going on related to the cleaning of Bangalore city, and other social concerns of the city.

  • In an interview, he once revealed he had started his acting career in theatre in Dharwad, Karnataka. He moved to Bangalore, and started his film and TV career from scratch, as there was no one from his family in the film and TV.
  • The debut film of Aniruddha was a big flop at the box office. But later some of his films such as Thuntata (2002), Jyeshta (2003), Neenello Nanalle (2006), Nali Naliyutha (2007), Rajasimha (2018), and Chef Chidambara (2024) did well at the box office.
  • In 2003, he appeared first time with his father-in-law in the film Jyeshta (2003).
  • Apart from his career in film and TV, he is also an interior designer. He and his wife owned an interior design company.
  • In 2016, Aniruddha Jatkar conceptualized and wrote the comic series “Sahasa Simha” based on the life of his father-in-law late actor Vishnuvardhan. 3 books of the comic book series have already been released in collaboration with Amar Chithra Katha.
  • In 2018, Aniruddha participated in several professional courses to enhance his filmmaking skills. He took a Film Appreciation course at FTII in Pune, attended a Cinematography workshop in Bangalore, and completed a 45-day residential workshop on theatre conducted by the National School of Drama Regional Resource Center in Bangalore.
  • In 2019, Aniruddha bagged a TV serial Jothe Jotheyali (2019). This show had the highest TRP in its opening week and was one of the most-watched shows on Kannada television.
  • Jatkar appeared for the first time with his mother-in-law in 2018 in the film Rajasimha (2018).
  • In memory of the late actor Vishnuvardhan’s birth anniversary, Jatkar made a film series of six short films named ‘Smoke’, ‘Shantam Papam’, ‘Save’, ‘Vaishnava Janato’, ‘Water’, and ‘Candlelight’. All the films were not more than six minutes in duration. Jatkar wrote and directed these short film series. He discussed different social issues in each film.   • During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jatkar showed his active participation in providing food and shelter to needy people.

  • Aniruddha opened his own production house Keerthi Innovations in 2020.
  • In 2021, Jatkar wrote and conceptualised a documentary titled “Baale Bangaara” on the life of his mother-in-law veteran actress Padmashree Bharathi Vishnuvardhan. He produced the documentary under his banner.

  • In 2022, the production team and director of the TV serial Jothe Jotheyali (2019), filed a case against him for his behaviour on the set and removed him from the show. On behalf of that, the Kannada Television Association banned him for two years.
  • In an interview, Jatkar stated that the ban affected him both personally and professionally. He also received support from his fans on social media for his return to the show.
  • The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), the premier film body of the Kannada film industry after listening to both sides. They strongly supported Aniruddha Jatkar, saying that no one could ban or stop him from working as an artist on any television projects based on his behaviour issues. And then the ban on the Jatkar was removed.
  • In 2023, after his ban was removed he bagged his first project Suryavamsha (2024), as a lead role. The show is aired on Udaya TV.

  • Aniruddha Jatkar started a campaign for road safety, and uses the hashtag #surakshathetegaginanusahabhagi, in his Facebook and Instagram accounts to request road authorities and representatives to take action for the safety of footpaths, and roads due to the hanging of electricity wires, cables and transformers without any protective guards.
