Booked for hurting religious sentiments On 21 June 2024, the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) filed a police complaint against Archana Makwana. They accused her of hurting religious sentiments of Sikh people by performing headstand (Shirsasana) on the premises of the Golden Temple and posting her pictures on Instagram. She also received death and threats for her actions after which she was given protection by Vadodara police. She later deleted her pictures from Instagram and also issued a public apology in which she said that she was not aware of the rules of Golden Temple and by performing Shirsasana, her intend was not to hurt someone’s sentiments, rather, she wanted to spread awareness on yoga.
