Mumbai 400 050 Controversies SRA scam money laundering case: In 2014 Baba Siddique was suspected to be involved in money laundering the slum rehabilitation authority money. The enforcement directorate conducted raids raid at five locations including Siddique’s premises after an FIR was filled against Siddique and 157 others including some congress leaders for embezzling about Rs. 400 Crores. Nothing was found against Siddique during the raids and he finally came out clean. ED professionals suspected that the embezzled money had been cleverly invested in business. After this, Sachin Sawant, a Congress leader tweeted and wrote,

This is a pattern. The ED and Central Bureau of Investigation harass the Opposition. The government is trying to damage our image and suppress our voice. This is a tactic to divert attention from the government’s failures and scare the Opposition. We will not be deterred and will continue to raise our voices.’
