• During her childhood, she attended the Dragon Theatre in Wales.

• She left home in Barmouth, North Wales and moved to London to get enrolled at the Ravenscourt Theatre School in Hammersmith, West London with her brother when she was 13.

• In an interview, she talked about her love for theatre since childhood and moving to London to join the acting school and said,
  

  I’ve loved drama since I was seven and appeared in lots of amateur plays. At 12 I wanted to go to drama school. My parents thought it was a phase, but a year later when I still wanted to do it they drove me to London to find somewhere.”

• In London, she found the behaviour of the family she moved in with was not very hospitable. She would often feel homesick and cry while talking to her mother on the phone.

•  After 6 months, her mother too moved to London while her father stayed in Wales.
