
In November 2024, he was arrested in Bangladesh by the detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for protesting against violence with Hindus in Bangladesh. While Chinmoy was about to take a flight to Chattogram, he was detained by the police at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. As per the police, Chinmoy, along with a few other people, had organised a rally under the banner “Sanatan Jagaran Mancha.” Reportedly, a few people had placed a saffron flag over Bangladeshi flag on Shadhinata Smathamva at Zero Point in Dhaka during the rally. The advisor of Bangladesh government Nahid Islam also accused him through a Facebook post saying that Chinmoy was disrupting social harmony in Bangladesh. Reportedly, his name was also included in the acid attack on army personnel in Chittagong. There were a few more allegations against stating that he illegaly occupied a pond owned by BNP Vice-Chairman Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin in Hathazari.
