In 2017, during the Faizabad sit-in, he mediated between the protestors of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan and the Pakistan’s government. Him mediating was severely criticised and he was charged with acting beyond his authority. In 2024, he was relieved of his charges.
• Accused of rigging elections
In 2018, Faiz Hameed was accused of rigging Pakistan’s elections in favour of Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan by thrice elected Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. Faiz Hameed was accused of allegedly threatening the lawmakers to turn in favour of Imran Khan.
• Accused of judicial manipulations
In 2018, he was accused of judicial manipulations by the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) judge, Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, in the Panama Papers case that resulted in the disqualification of Pakistan’s PM, Nawaz Sharif. Faiz Hameed denied the allegations, calling them false and baseless.
• Accused in Al-Qadir Trust case
In May 2023, Pakistan’s former minister, Faisal Vawda accused him of being the biggest beneficiaries in the Al-Qadir Trust case which allegedly resulted in Pakistan’s then Prime Minister, Imran Khan and his wife receiving billions of Pakistani Rupees and hundreds of kanals worth of land.
• Court Martial
In 2023, the owner of housing scheme, Moeez Ahmed Khan accused Faiz Hameed and his brother, Najaf Hameed, along with a few Pakistani rangers and ISI agents to conduct un unlawful raid on the Top City office and the residence of Kunwar Khan in 2017. He was further charged with violating the terms of his retirement. On 12 August 2024, the process of Field General Court Martial was initiated against Faiz Hameed for corruption. Disciplinary action was also initiated under the provisions of Pakistan Army Act, 1952.
