• India Oxenberg began her career as a child actress, with small roles in film and television projects that her mother Catherine Oxenberg and her stepfather Casper Van Dien were involved in.

• In 2002, she was cast in the American science fiction film titled ‘The Vector File’ in which she played the character of Mattie.

• In 2005, she became part of the American TV series titled ‘I Married a Princess’ which was based on the married life of India’s mother Catherine Oxenberg and her second husband Casper Van Dien.

• In 2008, India Oxenberg was presented to society at ‘Le Bal des débutantes’ which is a debutante ball and fashion event held annually in November in Hôtel de Crillon, Paris.

• She was one of two members of the Karađorđević dynasty to make her debut at Le Bal that year alongside her cousin Victoria de Silva who is the daughter of Princess Katarina and Sir Desmond de Silva.

• In 2012, India was cast in the American comedy film titled ‘Noobz’ in which she played the character of Pixie’s teammate.

• India Oxenberg’s father was arrested in 1992 for smuggling marijuana from Thailand and he was reportedly known for profiting around $50 million from drug trading.

• India Oxenberg is a descendant of the former ruling Serbian and deposed Yugoslav royal family named ‘House of Karađorđević’ which ruled Serbia and Yugoslavia.

• India is also a relative of the British royal family, the Danish royal family, and the Greek royal family through her great-grandmother Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark.

• After attending college for one year, in 2011, India Oxenberg along with her mother enrolled in a self-help entrepreneurship course hosted by NXIVM after getting recommended by a family friend. NXIVM was a cult-defunct company.

• India’s mother withdrew from the course soon after joining it. India carried on with her course and was mentored by a few international actors like Sarah Edmondson, Mark Vicente, and Bonnie Piesse. India Oxenberg ended up emptying her bank account and her inheritance to pay for NXIVM’s costly classes

• After spending five years in NXIVM, India Oxenberg was approached by the American former actress named Allison Mack about joining a secret sorority (club of women) named ‘DOS.’ India agreed to join the club and Allison became her mentor in the club.

• While getting mentored by Allison, India was instructed by Allison to provide personal family secrets and pose for nude photographs for her. Allison also limited India’s food intake and asked her to cook and clean for her while living with Allison Mack in Albany, New York.

• In between all this process, India Oxenberg was actually getting groomed to become a sexual partner for NXIVM’s founder and the leader of DOS Keith Raniere. India Oxenberg was one of the many women who were kept as sexual partners for DOS’s leader Keith Raniere.

• In 2016, India was held down and branded with the initials of Keith Raniere. India was unaware of the activity and she did not know that it was actually Keith Raniere’s initials.

• In 2017, India Oxenberg’s mother Catherine tried to get her out of the organization and expose the cult through the media. India’s mother also wrote a book titled ‘Captive: A Mother’s Crusade to Save Her Daughter from a Terrifying Cult’ in which she gave a detailed explanation of her and India’s experience regarding the cult.

• In 2018, India Oxenberg officially left NXIVM. She was left traumatised by everything that happened during her time in the cult. After getting out of NXIVM, India Oxenberg required a lot of work in order to come back to normal life.

• A combination of traditional therapy, psychedelics, and ketamine treatments has been part of her recovery to recover her trauma.

• She suffered from various body illnesses in the cult and later, Cannabis helped improve her appetite after struggling with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia that was developed by her due to the starvation diets in the cult.

• Soon after leaving NXIVM, India Oxenberg started working at a restaurant in New York City as a manager and that is where she met chef Patrick D’Ignazio for the first time. They started dating and got engaged in 2019.

• In 2020, she published the book titled ‘Still Learning: A Memoir’ which was based on her entire experience regarding NXIVM.

• In the same year, India Oxenberg produced the American true crime documentary television miniseries titled ‘Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult’ which was based around the cult NXIVM and its leader Keith Raniere. The series was telecast from the perspective of India Oxenberg.

• In 2022, India and her husband Patrick D’Ignazio moved to Key West Island in Florida, United States.
