In 2021, Laura Bozzo was accused of disposing a property which was already seized by Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT), the tax department of Mexico. The judge ordered a preventive detention for Laura Bozzo at the Santiaguito prison in Almoloya de Juárez. According to her, the whole issue was caused by the mismanagement of her accountants. After the arrest warrant was issued in August 2021, she was allegedly absconding and didn’t voluntarily present herself before the prison authorities. ^[1]El Financiero

In June 2002, Laura Bozzo was under house arrest at an apartment attached to her studio in an embezzlement case. She was allegedly accused of accepting money from former spy-chief Vladimiro Montesinos for promoting Mr Alberto Fujimori’s presidential re-election campaign. She denied the accusation and remained under house arrest for nearly 3 years.
