• Nathan Ellis liked playing sports since childhood. His first sport was Tee-ball, which he didn’t like so he started playing cricket with his friends.

• From September 2013 to September 2016, he worked as a part-time landscaper at the DC Mowing in Sutherland Shire.

• He met a lawyer named Connie Edwards who was working as a bar staff at Banstead Cricket Club in 2017. They later started dating and got married.

• He played for many local teams but had to move to Tasmania in 2017 to play domestic cricket where he worked many odd jobs to sustain himself.

• He worked as a marketing and sales assistant at The Real Learning Company from September 2017 to July 2019.

• He also worked as a labourer in a construction company but left it because it made him tired.

• He later worked as a furniture mover but left it also. During this time, he didn’t meet his family for 5 years.

• In 2019, he decided to quit cricket, but the coach Adam Griffith told him to do pre-season with the full squad.

• Since it didn’t guarantee a contract, he was confused but said yes as he didn’t want to regret the decision to quit.

• In March 2019, he got a job as a teaching aide at St. Virgil’s College in Tasmania, till May 2020 which provided him with enough money to live.

• In 2019, he got a contract from Cricket Tasmania and started playing domestic cricket regularly.

• In 2021, he was first chosen as the travelling reserve player for the Australian cricket team in the 2021 T20 World Cup, but later got a place in the squad that won the tournament. He took 4 wickets at an average of 18.50 and an economy rate of 6.73.
