  • Nitesh had a keen interest in sports since childhood. He loved playing football.
  • In 2009, Nitesh lost his left leg in a train accident in Visakhapatnam causing permanent damage to his leg, due to which he was bedridden for months.
  • After his accident he started preparing for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) entrance examinations, and he took a year off.
  • In 2013, Nitesh joined IIT Mandi, where he gained keen interest in Badminton.
  • In 2016, he started his career in Para-Badminton. He participated in the Para National Championship as part of the Haryana team in Faridabad and won a bronze medal.
  • In 2017, he won his first international title at the Irish Para-Badminton International.

  • In 2019, apart from his career as a player Nitesh worked as a senior badminton coach for the department of sports and youth affairs in Haryana.
  •  In 2020, he defeated Tokyo Paralympic medalists Pramod and Manoj and won the gold medal at the Nationals.
  • In 2022, he won a silver medal after beating his idol Bhagat at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022.
  • Nitesh has won various titles including wins at the BWF Para Badminton World Circuit and Asian Para Games.
  • He won the gold medal in the Men’s Singles SL3 badminton event after defeating England’s Daniel Bethell at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
