Showing off her breasts in a live show
When she was 53, she went to a live show in Zipolite, Oaxaca, in Mexico. The show was being live-streamed. During the show, she lifted her shirt and showed her breasts to the crowd. The presenters and producers of the show later apologized. She later showed off her breasts at the Mexico City International Airport while returning from Miami, USA and also posted the video on her Instagram account.
Accused of adopting dogs for sacrifice
In August 2024, a video of her visit to the dog shelter went viral. Many people claimed that she was adopting so many dogs as she wanted to sacrifice them as per the rituals of her religion, Santería. Telemundo refuted those claims by revealing that she visited the dog shelter ‘Mano Canina’ on 10 April 2024. The dog owner also posted a post of Facebook claiming she wanted to help old dogs.
Accused of using drugs
In November 2024, a woman named María Medina claimed she was the former manager of Eduardo Antonio, Niurka’s ex-husband. She claimed that the couple used drugs together when they were married. While Antonio denied her claims of being his former manager and any drug abuse, Niurka claimed that Medina was just trying to get famous.
Fined for traffic violation
In January 2025, a police inspector stopped her in Mérida and fined her for not wearing the seatbelt. She told the police officer that his colleagues and seniors knew her and had never fined her in 4 years. She also claimed that the officer might have wanted bribe from her but she never pays anything illegal to the police officers. Social media users had different views, with some claiming she was right, while others siding with the cop.
