Some Lesser Known Facts About Nuseir Yassin
- Nuseir Yassin was born into an Arab Muslim family of Palestinian descent. He is a Palestinian Arab with Israeli citizenship.
- At the age of 19, he applied to the Harvard University to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering. However, he later pursued a degree in economics with a minor in computer science.
- In February 2011, he started working as a stock at the Harvard shop. He worked there for one year.
- In January 2012, he founded a pay it forward website for good deeds named ‘Kindify.’ He was also featured on the news sites Boston Herald, Bostinno, and Harvard Gazette for his website.
- In May 2012, he founded Branchly, a search engine specifically for different social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. It is presented as part of DreamIt Ventures summer incubator. Later, he started developing mobile apps.
- In 2013, he did a three months software engineering internship at Venmo, a mobile payment service owned by PayPal in Greater New York City Area. A year later, he started working as a data engineer in the same company. After working there for almost 2 years, he left the company in April 2016.
- In April 2016, he founded a media company for storytelling named Nas Daily Corporation.
- At the same time, he started a Facebook page named ‘Nas Daily,’ where he posted a one-minute-long video daily for 1,000 days. In his videos, he share his experience visiting different countries and meeting different people.
- By November 2016, his Facebook amassed more than 10 million followers. His 1000 daily video journey ended on 5 January 2019.
- Initially, he used to make videos on the suggestions provided by his Facebook followers. He ended his videos with the tagline: “That’s one minute, see you tomorrow!”
- After completing his 1000 daily video journey, he started making one video per week, for a planned 100 weeks.
- In 2017, he made a short appearance in the Bollywood film ‘OK Jaanu,’ starring Aditya Roy Kapoor. He was paid $8 for the whole day for 3 seconds screen timing.

- During a trip to India in 2019, he did a fake wedding according to Indian culture and customs with his then girlfriend Alyne Tamir. However, he later received criticism from netizens and accused of disrespecting the Indian culture.
- In the same year, during their trip to Papua New Guinea, a country in Oceania, they performed an unofficial wedding according to the customs of the country.
- In 2020, he created a school for video creators named ‘Nas Academy’ and a video-production studio ‘Nas Studios.’
- In 2021, Yassin removed an educational course by Filipino Kalinga tattoo artist Whang-Od from Nas Academy after Whang-Od’s grandniece stated that Whang-Od had never made any agreement with Nas Academy. Later, he posted a video on social media as a proof in which Whang-Od was seen affixing her thumbprint to a document.
- However, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) didn’t consider posting a contract on social media to be valid. They later did an on-site validation. The issue was resolved on 24 October 2021 after Nas Academy Philippines representatives apologized to Whang-Od and the members of the community in a customary process. The community later asked to cancel the Whang-Od’s contract with Nas Academy.
- In July 2022, he went to North Korea and found it to be a depressing country. He consider it to be an open air prison.
- Earlier, he used to call himself a Palestinian-Israeli by which he meant Palestinian first and Israeli second.
- In August 2022, he described himself as Israeli-Palestinian in an interview in Dubai. In October 2023, after the attacks by Hamas, he post a tweet in which he wrote “I view myself as an “Israeli-Palestinian. Israeli first. Palestinian second.”

- He has faced several difficulties because of being a Israeli-Palestinian. In one of his videos, he revealed that once he was called ‘terrorist’ by a Jewish girl and was once attacked by an Israeli soldier. He had to hid himself in a bomb shelter with his Israeli friends when Israel was attacked by Hamas.
- In July 2023, he launched Nas.Io India. It is a free platform for those who want to build a paid membership business, sell a course, run a paid chat group (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord)and host paid workshops or events.
- He is fluent in speaking his native language Palestinian Arabic and English. He also speaks Hebrew language.
- He has released a series of podcasts including Nas Talks on Spotify.
- In 2024, he did a 6 month challenge to study top six religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Atheism. He has travelled to several countries to studies these religions.
- During his travel to India, he met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to learn about Hinduism.
