Claiming Indian Muslims will never vote for BJP

In December 2016, his statement went viral in which he claimed that Indian Muslims have never voted for the BJP and will never do so because BJP is a patriotic party. He then said why most terrorists are Muslims? Members of opposition parties condemned his statement. BJP Delhi distanced itself from his statement.

Alleged threat to women of Delhi from Shaheen Bagh Protesters

On 28 January 2020, during an election meeting in Vikas Puri before the 2020 Delhi elections, Parvesh Verma claimed that they will remove the Shaheen Bagh protesters within an hour if they came to power. He also alleged that protesters were a threat to the female citizens of Delhi. He said, “Lakhs of people gather there (Shaheen Bagh). They will enter your houses, rape your sisters and daughters, kill them. There’s time today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah won’t come to save you tomorrow.” He also claimed that they would remove all the illegal mosques from Delhi within one month of coming into power. Several people protested his remarks, claiming he was Islamophobic. Election Commission of India (ECI) also ordered his removal from BJP’s stars campaigners with immediate effect and barred him from campaigning for 4 days. The next day, on 29 January 2020, her claimed he received 2 death threat calls and filed a complaint at the Barakhamba police station.

Protesting in Parliament with a bottle of liquor

On 6 December 2021, Parvesh Verma showed up in Lok Sabha with a bottle of liquor to protest against the excise police of Delhi government. He alleged that Arvind Kejriwal wanted to make people of Delhi addicted to alcohol. He also alleged that AAP wanted to earn more money for campaigning through their excise policy.

Calling for boycott of Muslims

In October 2022, 3 Muslim men, Aalam, Bilal and Faizan, murdered a man named Manish Kumar in Sundar Nagri locality in Delhi’s GTB Nagar. VHP and other Hindu organizations arranged a meeting to protest the killing. Speaking at the rally, Parvesh Verma called for total boycott of Muslim vendors and shopkeepers. He said, “Mai kehta hu agar inka dimag theek karna hai, inki tabiyat theek karni hai, to ek hi ilaaj hai. Aur wo hai sampurna bahishkar (I say that if you want to teach them a lesson, total boycott is the only way out).” Many people criticized him from making such comments at a public program.

Misbehaving with Delhi Jal Board (DJB) official

On 29 October 2022, then-AAP MLA and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Vice-Chairman Saurabh Bharadwaj shared a video showing Parvesh Verma misbehaving with a DJB official. Standing on the bank of Yamuna river before the Chhath festival, Verma can be heard calling the officer a shameless man. When the official claimed that the chemical they were using to clean the river was US FDA approved and cleared by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). Verma got angry and said they were killing people by using such substandard materials. Bhardwaj later claimed that Verma and other BJP members wanted to disturb the preparations for the Chhath festival.

Accused of bribing the voters

In December 2025, while campaigning for the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that Parvesh Verma was bribing voters and distributing Rs 1100 to every person by setting up job camps under “Har Ghar Naukari” campaign for registrations. Various flying squads of different election officers claimed that there were no violation of the model code of conduct. However after Arvind Kejriwal’s insistence, the district election officer (DEO) of New Delhi constituency forwarded the complaints the the police for further investigation.

Legal trouble for questioning Punjab cars in Delhi

In January 2025, he implied while talking to media that vehicles from Punjab flooded Delhi with supporters of AAP to help sway the public and also influence the 2025 Delhi elections. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann claimed that it was a threat against the Punjabi people. Several people from Delhi and Punjab also sent legal notice to Verma, asking him to publicly apologize else there could be further legal trouble. Verma claimed that Mann and AAP distorted his statement. He also filed defamation suits against Kejriwal and Mann, demanding a public apology within 48 hours or Rs. 100 crores.
