Controversy
Legal Notice from Congress: On 2 July 2020, Congress MP Vivek Tankha’s law firm sent legal notices to Prabhat, who was then serving as the vice-president of the BJP, and state BJP chief V. D. Sharma. The notices were in response to Jha and Sharma’s claims that Kamal Nath, as Union Commerce Minister, reduced import duties on Chinese products, with funds allegedly benefitting Congress and the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. The notices demanded an apology and clarification within seven days or legal action would follow. Jha, however, argued that Congress should address the issue with the media sources that first reported about the import duty reductions.
