  • Pravin Dubey grew up in a middle-class family in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.
  • He developed an interest in cricket when he was too young and used to play with his friends on the bylanes of Azamgarh.
  • While studying at the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in Jaunpur, he was a part of the university’s cricket team.
  • As a part of his University’s cricket team, Pravin went to Bengaluru, Karnataka, to represent his team in the University Cricket Championship in 2012. He scored a 61-ball hundred for his team.
  • After completing his graduation, Pravin decided to take up cricket as a career and moved to Bengaluru, Karnataka, in search of better prospects.
  • In Bengaluru, he did a corporate job to support his cricketing expenses, playing cricket part-time.

  • Pravin made his List-A debut for Karnataka against Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy on 14 December 2015 at Alur.

  • He played two List-A matches for Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy season 2015-2016.
  • During the 2016 Indian Premier League auctions, Pravin was bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 35 lakhs.
  • Before Pravin could make his IPL debut, he suffered a long-term injury and was unable to play any cricket for around a year.
  • Pravin made a comeback in the Karnataka state team in 2018 for the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. However, he failed to find a spot in the playing XI.
  • On 8 January 2018, Pravin made his T20 debut for Karnataka against Goa at Visakhapatnam in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League.

    I went to Dubai as a net bowler, and when I returned to Bengaluru, I had come back after playing the IPL final. That was an unreal feeling for me. I played the penultimate league game, then played Qualifier 2 and the final. That was a very special moment for me”

  • In February 2022, Pravin was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL auctions.
  • In 2023, Hubli Tigers bought Pravin for Rs. 5.8 lakhs for the Maharaja T20 Trophy.
