- Pravin Dubey grew up in a middle-class family in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.
- He developed an interest in cricket when he was too young and used to play with his friends on the bylanes of Azamgarh.
- While studying at the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in Jaunpur, he was a part of the university’s cricket team.
- As a part of his University’s cricket team, Pravin went to Bengaluru, Karnataka, to represent his team in the University Cricket Championship in 2012. He scored a 61-ball hundred for his team.

I went to Dubai as a net bowler, and when I returned to Bengaluru, I had come back after playing the IPL final. That was an unreal feeling for me. I played the penultimate league game, then played Qualifier 2 and the final. That was a very special moment for me”
