On 15 July 2024, he spoke at a function in Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu and accused regional political leaders of visiting the homes of the killed terrorists and showing them sympathy publicly. He further accused the regional political parties of helping Pakistan infiltrate the major positions of the society. His statements were criticised by the various regional leaders including the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, who demanded the removal of DGP R.R.
