• Raju Talikote was born in the town of Talikote, located in Vijayapura district, Karnataka. His full name was Rangayana Rajesab Muktamsab Talikote.

• He was later known by his stage name, Raju Talikote. Both his parents were well-known stage artists.

• They ran a drama troupe called “Sreeguru Kaskadeswara Nattiya Sangha,” which performed stage dramas across Karnataka.

• Raju Talikote started acting in stage plays as a child, helping his parents in their drama group. After the death of his parents, he had to leave school early and continue the family’s stage work to earn a living.

• He soon became known for his strong comic timing and for playing drunkard characters in local theatre shows. These roles made him popular among audiences in North Karnataka.

• He later started his own drama troupe called ‘Khasgatyeshwara Nataka Mandali.’ His troupe performed in several towns and villages, keeping traditional theatre alive.

• Raju Talikote also worked as the Director of Dharwad Rangayana, a state-supported theatre institution. There, he trained and guided young actors in stage performance and direction.

• After gaining fame in theatre, he entered the Kannada film industry. He then acted in several well-known Kannada films such as Manasare, Pancharangi, Rajadhani, and Punjabi House.

• During the 1990s, Raju Talikote became famous for his audio play Kaliyuga Kudukka, which became a hit across Karnataka.

• The play was performed and recorded over 15,000 times, making it one of the most successful Kannada stage works of that time.

• He was also seen on television and participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7, where viewers appreciated his natural humour and simplicity.

• He had suffered a heart attack earlier in his life but recovered after medical treatment. On 13 October 2025, while shooting for a Kannada film in Udupi, he suffered another heart attack.

• He was taken immediately to Manipal Hospital in Udupi, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Raju Talikote was 62 years old at the time of his death.

• His last rites were performed in his native village, Chikka Sindagi, in Vijayapura district, Karnataka. His death marked the end of a long career that spanned theatre, television, and cinema over four decades.
