• In 2007, she had a small appearance in the Tamil film Sivaji: The Boss. Sunainaa became famous with her Tamil debut film Kadhalil Vizhunthen (2008) in which she appeared alongside actor Nakkhul Jaidev.

• She then went on to appear in many Tamil films such as Maasilamani (2009) and Vamsam (2010), where she played a beautiful village girl and received praise for her performance.

• In 2012, she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for her role as Esther in the film Neerparavai.

• After that, she continued to act in Tamil films such as Samar (2013) and Vanmam (2014) and made a guest appearance in Theri (2016).
