• Usha Thakur was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Sangam Nagar, Indore.

• During an interview, Usha Thakur said that while growing up she decided not to get married, and she believed that one of her family members should devote his/her life to country service.

• After completing her graduation, she started Prodh Shiksha Kendra in her village. She then started Samagra Kranti Gurukul School.

• Usha Thakur has worked as the vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party and incharge of its cultural cell.
