In 2009, the Leader of Opposition of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Jai Kishan Sharma, accused Vijender of misconduct and unethical behavior. He alleged that the Sampurna NGO founded by Vijender’s wife received disproportionately large amounts of funding from the MCD, with no proper accounting for the funds. He further claimed that the NGO had used MCD-allotted space for commercial purposes.
Forcibly Removed from Delhi Legislative Assembly
In 2015, Vijender, along with two other BJP MLAs OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan, was shouting slogans, demanding the implementation of the Fourth Delhi Finance Commission’s recommendations, which disrupted the Budget session in the Assembly. As a consequence, the then Speaker of the Delhi Assembly Ram Niwas Goel ordered their removal from the Assembly so that the Assembly proceedings could resume. While Vijender resisted going out off the Assembly, six marshals lifted and dragged him out.
Suspended From the Delhi Legislative Assembly
In August 2019, Vijender Singh was suspended from the Delhi Legislative Assembly for two days by Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel for using unparliamentary language in the House.
Defamation Case Against Vijender
In 2022, a defamation case was filed against Vijender by Aam Aadmi Party’s Pankaj Gupta after he shared a video on social media alleging that AAP indulged in hooliganism and encouraged violence against women.
Assaulting A Marshal
In October 2024, two police complaints were filed against Vijender Gupta by Aam Aadmi Party leaders for physically assaulting a female bus marshal outside the Lieutenant Governor’s house. They also accused him of caste discrimination.
