Backlash Over Rumors of Living in the U.S.: In May 2025, Xi Mingze became the centre of controversy when far-right commentator Laura Loomer claimed she was secretly living in Massachusetts under protection from Chinese military guards. Loomer accused Harvard Universtity and U.S. officials of allowing her to stay despite her family’s ties to the Chinese Communist Party. These claims, however, were not supported by any solid evidence and contradicted earlier reports that Xi had returned to China after graduating from Harvard University in 2014. |
